The Kendel Sherman Foundation [KSF] is proud to offer the very first Community CPR Voucher Program aimed at bringing no-cost high-quality CPR training directly to our communities.
With this program, any individual aged 13 or older, on public assistance, who also resides in Boone or Winnebago County will receive a voucher for a FREE CPR, AED, and First-Aid certification course with NARCAN training and distribution through the Kendel Sherman Foundation in Rockford, IL.
The 2022 annual report from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office indicated that there were 252 instances of cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR] in Winnebago County, IL and 182 of those were dispatcher-assisted where a bystander was on the scene first. Statistics show that marginalized communities suffer from greater rates of health-related illnesses partly due to the availability of resources.
KSF's pilot CPR Voucher Program will further the diversity, equity, and inclusion mission of KSF by eliminating the cost of programming for families that already qualify for state assistance. Eliminating this barrier can directly disrupt this trend, bringing life-saving skills to communities historically excluded and largely impacted by trauma.
The CPR Voucher Program will provide up to 250 low-income residents with free lifesaving Health and Safety Institute [HSI] CPR certification through KSF in Rockford, IL.
Those interested in the program should check eligibilty by completing out the form linked via the button below. After completion of the form, a member of our team will schedule an intake appointment with eligible particpants to complete eligibilty verification and register the participant for a blended-learning class.
